A black and white picture of an old fashioned lantern.Once upon a time, in a bustling city filled with skyscrapers and honking cars, there lived two travellers named Jens and Inge. Though they loved the excitement of city life, they couldn’t help but dream of a simpler, more connected existence for the planned family on the horizon. They dreamed of fields of flowers and wide-open skies, of growing their own food and breathing fresh, clean air.

After a decade on the wind traveling the world planning how they could help protect nature while building their lifestyle, Jens and Inge decided to take the leap and chase their dream of helping others reconnect to nature in a simple and timeless way. They left the city behind and found themselves in the magnificent Prince Edward County, surrounded by quaint countryside, lush forests and endless blue skies.

As they tended to their farm, Jens and Inge’s travels around the world inspired them to create something truly unique. They combined the simplicity of camping with the luxuriousness of a five-star hotel, and thus, FRONTERRA Camp was born. Jens and Inge worked tirelessly to create a welcoming and whimsical atmosphere with custom-designed tents adorned with colourful fabrics, rustic furniture made from reclaimed wood, and stunning floral arrangements made from the farm’s own flowers.

Guests are now visiting from all over to stay in these cozy canvas tents, nestled among the trees and fields of wildflowers. Jens and Inge hope their farm to be a place of magic and wonder, where guests can reconnect with nature, enjoy fresh organic produce, and relax under the stars. Their guests can spend their days exploring the farm’s fields and gardens, picking their own flowers, hiking through nearby trails, enjoying the beach close by or simply lounging in the camp listening to the birds chirping. At night, they can gather around the campfire, roast marshmallows, and share stories under the starry sky.

Despite the hard work, long days, and unpredictable weather, Jens and Inge wouldn’t trade their lifestyle for anything as they “live deep and suck out all the marrow of life” (Walden, H.D.Thoreau) creating a beautiful, sustainable world for themselves and their guests. With many returning guests and staff every summer creating what is now called the “FRONTERRA Tribe”, Jens and Inge found their true calling in life and live content that they are part of the solution surrounded by the beauty of nature and the joy of their guests. They still travel the world, as always searching for new and inspiring ways to make Fronterra a truly enchanting & transformative place!
